New partnership: Halmstad University
Welcome to the Nordic Circular Hotspot Partnership Programme, Halmstad University. This year, Halmstad University celebrates 40 years as an independent university. The anniversary highlights what has made Halmstad University the creative and innovative university that it is today, with focus areas from innovation and sustainable business development to smart cities and communities and multidisciplinary materials research.
Many innovations created by students at Halmstad University align with the Global Goals to be achieved by 2030. One of the focus areas of Halmstad University is Smart Cities and Communities, which is a multidisciplinary research and education initiative across the institution. The goal of this focus area is to prepare individuals and communities to address industrial and societal challenges. The University has collaboration agreements with several key partners in research and education, including also NCH partner Stena Recycling.
“We want to find possible collaborators within and beyond the academic sector, mainly on circular economy aspects in Sweden and abroad — and to get updates on the most recent developments and political/regulatory background regarding this theme. At Halmstad University, we also want to contribute with our knowledge and share our research results to participate in discussions and contribute to building a CE transition,” says Marie Mattsson, Professor in Environmental Science at the Rydberg Laboratory in Halmstad University.
At the NCH, we are looking forward to this collaboration with Halmstad University — and finding out ways they can work with us and all of our partners in the Nordics and beyond to build the transition to a sustainable and circular future, together.
Welcome, Halmstad University!
