New partnership: The Swedish School of Textiles

The Swedish School of Textiles (University of Borås) believes their unique melting pot of solid knowledge, cutting-edge research, and interdisciplinary approach will lay the foundation for the sustainable lifestyle of the future. Their research deals with everything from fibres and recycling to design and textile management. Now, we are very excited to welcome them to the Nordic Circular Hotspot Partnership Programme!

Borås, Sweden, has a long textile history; it has been a centre for expertise and knowledge ever since the Borås Technical Väfskola started up in 1866 – which became the foundation of the Swedish School of Textiles. Today, the University of Borås as a whole includes approximately 18,300 students and 822 staff members, and the School of Textiles lives and breathes textile knowledge and history. In addition, the School’s connections to business and industry are a tangible benefit, giving students the opportunity to establish partnerships with business, industry, and academia — even before they graduate.

We are very excited to welcome The Swedish School of Textiles to the Nordic Circular Hotspot. “Joining NCH offers a unique networking and knowledge-sharing opportunity to The Swedish School of Textiles, which holds the responsibility to conduct cutting-edge research and education within the field of textiles and fashion in Sweden. Sustainability and circularity are of prime focus at The Swedish School of Textiles, and joining NCH can elevate its momentum to catalyse the transition of the industry towards being sustainable and circular,” says Rudrajeet Pal, Professor in the Textile Value Chain at the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås.

Welcome to the NCH, The Swedish School of Textiles!
