New partnership: Helsinki-Uusimaa Circular Valley

Nordic Circular Hotspot and Helsinki-Uusimaa Circular Valley are glad to announce a new partnership.

Helsinki-Uusimaa region has set a target to become carbon neutral by 2030, and the Helsinki-Uusimaa Circular Valley was established to support this aim. The valley is a community of experts, municipalities, companies, organisations and research institutes that form an innovation ecosystem. It functions as an accelerator for new solutions and pilots focusing especially on construction, food chains and textiles, plastics, and electronics, as well as knowledge-building, financing instruments and international collaboration.  As a regional ecosystem, it facilitates new business opportunities and builds a good living environment for its citizens.

“Partnering up with the Nordic Circular Hotspot seems like a natural next step for the Helsinki-Uusimaa Circular Valley, where we work as an ecosystem to generate new solutions, benchmark existing local and regional solutions, and push the circular market forward. We need to work together to establish system-level change,” says Simo Karetie, Project Manager, Helsinki-Uusimaa Circular Valley.

We at the Nordic Circular Hotspot look forward to exploring opportunities with Circular Valley and its partners in the different focus areas of the initiative. As a regional and collaborative initiative, we share a lot in common with the Circular Valley and look forward to sharing learnings to accelerate the circular economy in our respective ways.

We are glad to welcome Circular Valley as the newest addition to our Partnership Programme and look forward to working with them. Welcome!
